Ebay to present at the SOA conference
I thought this artcile was particularly interesting in that my company is also moving in the direction of SOA. We have formaly created an Enterprise Architecture organization to advance our technology. Our internet is using the .NET platform for our internet and intranet and the focus is to move in the SOA/AJAX direction.
I am going to recommend this conference to several of our leaders within our IT organization to ensure they are aware of the specifics of presentation (best practices, challenges, etc.)

Mike, As I have posted on a couple of other blogs, I believe companies (especially large/older) that fail to move in this direction will be left behind by those that do. Good for your company! Wish I had the time and support to go to these conferences (ah for the good old days). Roy
The agency that I support wants to move to a service oriented archtecture. They certainly throw the terminology around alot. But nothing about what we have in place has much to do with an enterprise view of services, applications, data, or delivery. Everything is what I call "point solutions." According to this article, "The problems get further exacerbated, Malladi explains, when trying to migrate from existing monolithic web applications and its infrastructure to a SOA model, rather than starting fresh from the ground up.
Great potential, but one that must be carefully implemented. I would recommend test their resolve and committment before jumping in.
